We found a leaf smaller than our thumb nail.
We found a leaf with toothed edges. Below: We found a leaf that had been eaten by something.

Class Tree
We adopted a class tree (a maple tree) near the school gardens. We will visit our tree many times during the school year recording changes we see over the different seasons.

Explorers
"Sit-Spots": writing and drawing about what we see, hear and feel while enjoying quiet time in or near our outside classroom.
We were fascinated by all the earthworms we found under stumps.
Releasing Monarch Butterflies
We were able to observe the different stages of the Life Cycle of the Monarch Butterfly. We released 7 butterflies this month.
We labeled parts on the Monarch caterpillar.
We learned about how some of the caterpillar parts help them survive.
We drew pictures of the different stages of the Monarch Butterflies Life Cycle.
