Snow Volcanos

 

We had "snow" much fun erupting our volcanos in the snow today.  We built volcanos from snow and added a plastic cup to the top of our volcano.  We added baking soda and colored vinegar and watched for the reaction!!

Best day ever!!

Testing Ramps

 

We each built our own ramps and had a bag of items to test on the ramp.  Would the items go down the ramp or not?  After testing and sorting the items, we drew pictures of items that went down the ramp and items that did not go down the ramp.  

The Great Sled Race

 

We had a great time outside exploring force and motion with our Great Sled Race.  

Pull or Push?   Which is faster?  Which is easier?  

Cross Country Skiing

 

We had a fun time trying out the new cross country skis at school today.  

Ice Cube Designs

 

We used colored ice cubes to create designs inside our hoops.  

Ice Cube Math

 We did Math class outside today.  We tossed colored ice cubes to our hoop and collected the data showing how many cubes landed in the hoop.   We used our data sheets to create a graph showing how many landed in the hoop on each of our 5 attempts.   

Penguin Poetry

 

We wrote descriptive poems about penguins and made construction paper penguins.  

Snowshoe Hike

 

Thank you Ms. Alejandra for taking us on a Snowshoe Hike during gym class.  

Snow Poetry and Winter Pattern Block designs

We wrote an Acrostic Poem about Snow.   

We created snowflakes using pattern block shapes.  

We made other winter designs using pattern blocks.  

 

Penguin Writing

We each wrote our own report about Penguins.   

We wrote about what we would do if we were penguins.
