Carving Pumpkins

We had a great time carving pumpkins today.  Special thanks to Laurie & Dan Novotny for growing the pumpkins and letting us visit the patch to pick out pumpkins.  

Special thanks also to our amazing PTO for purchasing the pumpkins for us from Papa's Pumpkin Patch.  The pumpkins will be part of the Trunk-orTreat Halloween Party on Sunday.

We stopped at the local Pumpkin Patch to pick out special pumpkins for carving and decorating.  

 

Fall Hike

Fun Fall Hike Day with our 2nd and 3rd grade friends.  

S'mores are always a fun treat!

Egg carton scavenger hunt and recording our findings in our Nature Journals.  

 

Bug Hotels

 

We used recycled items and things found in nature to create Bug Hotels.  We will check next week to see if any insects have moved in!  

Fire Department visit

 

Thank you to the Dan, Eric and Dave from the Stockbridge Volunteer Fire Department for coming to school today to teach us about fire safety and prevention.  

We had fun pretending to drive the big trucks.

We enjoyed spraying the hose.  

We saw all the special tools they use to fight fires.  

We saw what they look like when they are wearing special gear to enter buildings.   

Tennis for gym class

 

This week we visited the local tennis court to learn to play tennis during gym class.  What a fun time!!

Honey Cakes

 

After visiting a local bee keeper, we were inspired to make "honey cakes".    They were delicious.
