Gingerbread Houses

 After reading many different gingerbread stories, we invited our 2nd and 3rd grade friends in to decorate gingerbread graham cracker houses.  

We had so much fun!

Reading Buddies

Once a week,  we pair up with our 2nd and 3rd grade Reading Buddies tp practice reading and listening to others read.

S'mores taste SO good especially if they are made from snowman marshmallows!

Ski Boose rides

 

Thank you Mr. Colton for a ride in the ski boose.  We loved it!!  Can we do it again?  

Winter Celebration: Nature Walk

 

We played The Frame Game today on our Nature Walk.  We discovered blue frames showcasing something in nature.  We drew the picture in frames on our paper and then built/created a design with that item.  

We couldn't pass up the chance to make snow angels!

Popcorn Salad

We made "Popcorn Salad" on Thursday afternoon and sold it Friday morning to students and adults in other classrooms.  We are learning  about being a buyer and a seller during this project.  We will sell "Popcorn Salad" 3 more times during the school year.  At the end of the year, we will donate the money to a charity of our choice.  

 

Native American Study

We have been learning about Native American culture from long ago.   

We made tepees.  

We colored totem poles and created our own with pictures of things that are important to our families.  

We created picture stories.  

We made clay pots and plates.  

We "colored" pictures with sand.  

We made wampum and a list of what we would trade our wampum for.
