Author Visit

 

Special thanks to local author and illustrator Judy Jensen for stopping by school to read to us from her book A Day on the Farm with Annabelle. 

After listening to Judy read her book and describe to us her process for illustrating the pages, we created our own Judy like pages.  We drew our main picture in the center of the paper and added all of the extras we wanted to share about our main drawing in the border around the picture.  

Fun in the Snow

 

We had so much fun building in the snow today with Ms. Braun during  Outdoor Ed  class.  

Racing Ramps

 

We gathered all of our materials and began building ramps of different heights to see if the slope of the ramp made our car travel longer distances.  

BIG Friend/Little Friend: Marble Runs

 

We had a great time working with our BIG Friends creating marble runs using cardboard tubes and masking tape!  Sometimes the marble got stuck and we had to adjust our design!

The finished marble runs!  We named our marble runs and tried out all of them!  

GOOP!

 

After reading the book GOOP! , one of our 1st graders wanted to teach her classmates how to make it!

We loved seeing how it changed from a liquid to a solid!  So much fun!
