Pilgrim Chore Work Day

 

After learning about some of the chores the Pilgrim children had to do, we had our own chore work day.  We dug for clams in the sand, made beeswax candles and stuffed pillows with batting and pine needles.  

Popcorn Salad

 

We made Popcorn Salad last week and sold it to all the students in our school at snack time.  We will have 3 more Popcorn Salad days during the school year.  At the end of the year, we will count our money and make a donation to a charity of our choice.  

Making Pizza

 

We had SO much fun making our own pizzas for lunch today with our 2nd and 3rd grade friends!

Edible Bugs

 

We had so much fun making bugs from nature materials, we decided to make a bug we could eat.   We used mostly fruits and veggies and a few crackers.    SO MUCH FUN and tasty too!

Nature Bugs

Kindergarten and 1st grade entomologists created these amazing bugs from materials found in nature.  We labeled the body parts and decided to give them names!

Fire Department Visit

Special thanks to volunteer members from the Stockbridge Fire Department for stopping by school to teach us about fire safety and prevention.  

 

Math Quilts

 

1st grade students created this beautiful paper Sea Stars Quilt as we learned about skip counting by 5's to count the arms of the sea stars.  

Kindergarten students created this beautiful paper Butterfly Quilt as we learned about patterns.  

Bug Writing: Narratives

 

We each brainstormed our own ideas to write a fiction(narrative) story about our bug characters, the setting, the problem and the solution to our story.
