Spring Hike: Pine Hill Park

Despite a few raindrops, we had a great exploring all the stations along the trail of the Pine Cone Adventure Forest at Pine Hill Park.   

Stem Challenge: Bridges

Our challenge after reading about the goats wanting to cross the bridge to get to the grass on the other side of the river, was to design and  create a bridge from recycled materials to help them cross safely.  We had so much fun testing out these amazing bridges with goats and the troll!    

Class Celebration: s'mores

 

We had a great time toasting marshmallows to make s'mores as part of our class celebration for earning 959 paper hands!

Stem Challenge: Building Houses

Our task was to build houses that the wolf could not blow down.   

We started with straw houses first.  

Stick houses were our second attempt.  

Then we built houses with bricks (legos and wooden blocks).

The BIG BAD wolf (aka hair dryer) was able to blow down the straw and stick houses but not the brick houses!  

Stem Challenge: "Goldirocks"

Our task was to create a chair for "Goldirocks" that would not break when she sat in it.   Check out these cool designs!
