In Lesson two from the Solar FUNdamental kit, we put on our engineer hats and designed trees using "paper" leaves to block as much light as possible. After shining flashlights on our trees, students were able to modify their tree. Some of the questions they were trying to answer were: "Was your animal in the shade?", "Does your tree block the sun's warming effect?" and "How could it block more?"
